Running on fumes
My last two months of my life, I have been running on fumes. Fumes. So I am trying desperately to finish up my book. I finally became a jew, I have went on three vacations, and did tons of socializing. Today, I will go to my volunteer for hospice, hopefully work out, have lunch with a new friend, go work on fundraising efforts for the temple, and goodness knows what else. Yesterday I went to the gym, cleaned house, made 4 dishes for the website, shot[...]
So it has been about a month
I can't say I am making large progress on the diet. I haven't gained since the last posting, that's a miracle. Since I wrote last I went on three vacations. Once up to Missouri for Christmas with my family. Dodged holiday dinners, and drinks that go with dinners. Went to Austin for New Years, lovely dinner there. When to Club Med for a week. Not gaining there was a miracle, I came back 1 pound up from there, but considering I drank mostly calorie[...]
Diets and the Holidays
For me diets and the holidays don't mix. I like to over induldge. Being on a low fat calorie diet, then eating much richer food doesn't go so well for me. I have had wildly different food in my house this past weekend with having company over, and having a holiday party this weekend. The last several days has been filled with latkes, cabbages, smoked fish of multiple varieties and so much more. After having ate light for about a month now, I have been[...]
I heart DietGourmet
Finally I had the opportunity for a real meal. DietGourmet offers freshly prepared meals that taste wonderful. Last night after couple of weeks I have been eating frozen dinners, and shelf stable foods, I decided to give them a try. Last night I actually had a dinner that was tasty, and filling. For a little over 500 calories I had a curried chicken salad, fruit, crackers, couscous stuffed with nuts, fruit, and more, and even pineapple pudding!! I set the[...]
Diet Purgatory
So I find myself in "Diet Purgatory", actually I am going to be there awhile. With the New Year coming along, got to me thinking what do I want out of the next New Year? Well my first and foremost would be I would like to start dating again. It has been almost 18 months since Michael passed away, and now that I have moved back, gotten settled, and gotten a few other things in my life on track, the dating thing came into mind. So that brought about the whole[...]
My experience with E-Harmony
Dating sites can be a great way to meet someone special. If you are a working adult with activities, friends, and a social life, you think it would be easy to meet members of the opposite sex. My married friends seem to think that this is easier than falling off a log. I assure them, dating is difficult. Personally my first requirement is the employed look, that may sound cynical and cruel, but if you are roughly equivalent to my age, you should have a[...]
Ageing Well: A Guide to Rejuvenation and Longevity by Dr. George Cromack DC FIAMA
Ageing Well by Dr. George Cromack is a good resource for a variety of alternative therapies. I like that this book covers a many of the alternative therapies out there; traction units, diet, Chiropractic, superfoods and suppliments, restorative stretching, and much more are covered. There are good overviews of each of the alternative therapies that are in this book. I like that this book really serves as a springboard for learning what may be best for you. I[...]
This Year’s Hurricane Preparation
So having moved back into the Houston area this year, means that a lot of hurricane preparation that I had previously done has gone to the way side, or those important objects are nowhere to be found after the move. As soon as I feel that I have supplies that I want in hand, I am sure[...]
Men – Advice
This was posted at CopyKat Chat. If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away. If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay. Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior. Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache. Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that's not meant to be. Slower is better. Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy. If[...]
Be Ms. Right Before Looking for Mr. Right
Be Ms. Right Before Looking for Mr. Right Bcy Brooke Brimm There is a bunch of talk among women about finding Mr. Right, and there seems to be a common consensus that finding him is a near impossible task. A Woman who is perceived to have found him is envied and bombarded with questions as to how she landed him. The problem with this Mr. Right theory is that it implies that women are automatically Ms. Rights. Unfortunately, this is not true. We are not all[...]
